Viaduct of Garabit   Viaduct of Millau   Viaduct of Viaur

Although these viaducts originate from different epochs they all show the personal style of inspired artists. Their elegance is indisputable and the audacity of the constructions are impressive.

The design engineer of the Viaduct de Viaur had been Gustave Eiffel, the designer of the Eiffel tower in Paris. One of his engineers, Emile Nouguier, had designed the viaduct of Garabit.

The british star-architect Norman Forster has designed the very filigreed viaduct of Millau in comparison with its size. A carriageway made from steel is situated on 7 piers made from special concrete, which have a distance of 342 m between each other.

You also can visit several beautiful, old medieval bridges on this tour (in Saint-Affrique, Mende, Quezac, Millau, Espalion, Brousse le Château, Saint-Chély-d'Aubrac, Saint-Flour etc.).

Perhaps you can realize to make a stop at the Belvédère de Mallet not far from the viaduct of Garabit where you can enjoy a view to a mountain sea, originating from the river Truyère.
